A total of 329,500 unemployed jobseekers were registered at the Employment and Economic Development Offices at the end of September. This is 7,900 fewer than a year earlier. The number of unemployed jobseekers decreased by 13,100 from the previous month. The figures are from the Employment Bulletin of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
According to Statistics Finland’s Labour Force Survey In September 2016, the number of employed persons was 7,000 more than one year earlier. At 7.7 per cent, the unemployment rate was 0.8 percentage points lower in September than one year earlier.
The number of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during September totalled 46,900, or 9,200 more than in September the previous year. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies at Employment and Economic Development Offices in September amounted to 82,300, which is 15,900 more than a year ago.
