Temporary legislative amendment: when initiating a job search, it is not required to answer questions on service needs and update one’s employment plan

8.5.2020, updated 30.6.2020

As of 1 May 2020, a temporary amendment to the law entered into force. According to this amendment, the questions concerning service needs and updating of one’s employment plan are not required tasks, and this also applies retroactively from 16 March 2020 onwards.

Job search status.

If you wish, you can answer questions concerning service needs and update your employment plan once you have registered as a jobseeker, but your job search will not expire if these tasks are not completed.
These amendments concerning job search validity will remain in force until 31 December 2020. The Act also applies retrospectively, such that the TE Office can, at your request, correct and reactivate a job search that has been terminated for the reasons mentioned above on or after 16 March 2020.
You can request the reactivation of your job search from the national telephone service for personal customers. Payment of unemployment benefits is subject to the validity of your job search. You can check your job search status from the My e-Services service.
